'mano a mano' Dance first. Think later. It ‘s the natural order. Samuel Beckett

'la falena'

“la falena" simply means "the moth".

The moth emerges at night and is drawn to spots of brightness, candles, lanterns and lights

- a  fluttering dance for the moment, a dance of joy and abandon.

The moth does not have the showy brashness of the sun loving butterfly.

Rather it possesses a deeper beauty - dark and subtle.

Tango at its best can bring us closer to the passionate and melancholic

nightly dance of the moth - circling a brightness we can feel,

but never reach. It brings us moments of intensity and immersion.

Moments of self-contained beauty and happiness.

Tango is a poetry of movement - like the moth's fleeting flight......

Moth:     I gave you my life.

Flame:     I allowed you to kiss me.
