“la falena" simply means "the moth".

The moth emerges at night and is drawn to spots of brightness, candles, lanterns and lights - a  fluttering dance for the moment, a dance of joy and abandon.

The moth does not have the showy brashness of the sun loving butterfly.

Rather it possesses a deeper beauty - dark and subtle.

Tango at its best can bring us closer to the passionate and melancholic

nightly dance of the moth - circling a brightness we can feel,

but never reach. It brings us moments of intensity and immersion.

Moments of self-contained beauty and happiness.

Tango is a poetry of movement - like the moth's fleeting flight......

Moth:     I gave you my life.
Flame:     I allowed you to kiss me.
